As an interior designer and realtor, I’m in the business of trend-setting and finding hidden gems. You spend 35+ years dedicated to the profession of interior design and eventually you develop the “eye” for the timeless design elements hidden among the fads that come and go. Whether you are remodeling or looking to buy, I always welcome any opportunity to consult or advise on the best and brightest ideas, trends and items in the modern world of interior design.

Adding a touch of Carol Ann means trusting me to create beautiful and unique spaces. Whether you need a designer, realtor, or just a friend to bounce ideas off of, it brings me great energy to be able to bring my ideas to your front door. They say imitation is the finest form of flattery and for a designer, you better believe that holds true.

Today, I’m bringing you some of the sights I was treated to at a closed networking event at Ferguson Kitchen and Lighting Gallery Showroom, in Honolulu. The Ferguson Kitchen and Lighting Expo is one of my favorite annual events. They rolled out the red carpet and treated us to an evening of cocktails and pupus. Yum!

Before I get carried away talking about cocktails let’s delve into some things that I’m excited to implement in my own designs. I was elated with the sight of open and spacious showers as a central theme in the

showroom. I’m seeing a shift to more functional, open spaces with body sprayers and benches suited for adults and kids. I think this could inspire very creative and fun ideas for master bathrooms in the home.

As a realtor, when I see a home with Native Trails fixtures, I know the home’s resume just got that much better.Their copper artisanal kitchen and bath fixtures feature a range of finishes and textures that add dramatic beauty to any master bath. Their products, like the sample finishes pictured below, drew attention from many at the event.

This tidbit of innovation is both stylish and functional. If you are limited on kitchen space, replacing your conventional fold-down door will make your kitchen stylish, open and modern! Not to mention remove some worry about little ones running around and running into sharp corners!

The GE Monogram oven featured this style and one other technological upgrade to its functionality that was very modern. Bluetooth connectivity to smartphones was an update that suited the technologically-inclined Gen Xer or Millennial.

These are just a few of the exciting products and ideas I can’t wait to implement in my own designs. Keep updated with my featured tips, ideas, and products that are on the forefront of the industry.
